The Team

Belkorp’s team of experienced professionals is central to our ongoing success in building long term wealth and strong relationships with our partners. In addition our leadership team is accountable to an international Board of Directors representing a wealth of business experience across numerous sectors.

The Belkorp team is outlined below:

Stuart Belkin
Chairman & CEO 
Stuart has been Chairman and CEO of the Belkorp Group of Companies since 1987 and in this role oversees all Belkorp Group investments and operations. He is also Chairman of Rogers Sugar Inc., Canada’s largest sugar refiner and marketer and a Belkorp investee company since 1993.  Previously, he served as Chairman of Canadian Hotel Income Properties (a leading Canadian Hotel REIT) and Mohawk Canada Ltd. (western Canada’s leading independent gasoline retailer), both of which were significant Belkorp investments. In addition, Stuart served as a founding director of Timberwest Forest Ltd., British Columbia’s largest publicly-owned land holding company.

Stuart joined the family business full time in 1984, at which time it was Belkin Inc., Canada’s largest paperboard packaging company.  Prior to this, he worked in the commercial banking industry.  Stuart holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of B.C. 

His charitable and public sector activities have included service as trustee or director of Vancouver Police Foundation, St. Paul’s Hospital (Board & Foundation), C.D. Howe Institute, United Way of the Lower Mainland, and Sectoral Adviser Canada/U.S. Free Trade Agreement.

Tom D. Lindsay
President & COO
Tom is President and COO for the Belkorp Group of Companies and is responsible for all aspects of financial, operational and investment decision making for the numerous Belkorp entities. Tom has previously served as a Trustee of CHIP REIT and as a Director of Lantic Sugar, Mohawk Oil and Hillsborough Resources.

Tom has been a senior executive of the Belkorp group since 1989. Prior to joining the company, Tom had 12 years of experience in the financial services in Canada. Tom holds a B. Comm. from the University of B.C. and a M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. Tom has served on numerous community Boards and Committees over the years.

Michael Heskin
Senior Vice President, Finance & CFO
Mike is Senior Vice President, Finance & CFO for the Belkorp Group of Companies and is involved in all aspects of operational, investment, divestiture and management decisions. Mike is a member of the Board of Directors of Lantic Inc, the operating subsidiary of Rogers Sugar Inc., which is a Belkorp Group strategic investment.

Prior to joining Belkorp in 1994, Mike spent 7 years as a practicing public accountant with a leading international accounting firm in Vancouver. Mike obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.

Ted Rattray
Senior Vice-President
Ted is a Vice President for the Belkorp Group of Companies and is actively involved in the general management and strategic business development needs of the environmental services companies within the group, including Wastech Services Ltd., AtSource Recycling Services Corporation and Belkorp Environmental Services Inc.

Ted has been with the Belkorp Group since 1986. Prior to joining Belkorp Ted initiated an environmental services business for Genstar Corporation in Western North America and before that spent a dozen years working in the public and private sectors in Eastern Canada. Ted holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and Masters degree in Environmental Engineering, and is a member of a number of professional associations in Canada and the USA.

 

Randy Smith
Corporate Counsel & Secretary
Randy joined Belkorp in 1998.  As in-house legal counsel, he works closely with other members of the Belkorp executive team and business unit managers to provide legal support for business operations. As Corporate Secretary, Randy is also responsible for general corporate matters pertaining to the Belkorp Group of Companies. Prior to joining Belkorp, Randy practiced commercial real estate law for 12 years with Ladner Downs (which subsequently became Borden Ladner Gervais). Today, Randy continues to be a practicing member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
